Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

1. Who we are

The person responsible for your data (the "data controller") is Eleuteria Conti, Via Paolo Stoppa, 38, 00125 Rome (RM), Italy.

2. What information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in a sign-up form on this website, we collect the first name and email address you provide. Our free downloads are available without giving us any personal information.

Information collected automatically. Our website provider may collect limited technical data such as your IP address, browser type and device, for security and to deliver the pages. See section 6 on cookies.

We do not ask for sensitive information or payment details through this website. Purchases of our books happen entirely on Amazon, under Amazon's own terms and privacy policy.

3. How we use your information

  • To send occasional emails with travel inspiration, tips and news about our books, if you have signed up;
  • To respond to messages you send us;
  • To keep this website secure and to meet our legal obligations.

4. Our legal basis

Under the GDPR, we rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box and submitting a sign-up form, to send you marketing emails, and on our legitimate interests in running and protecting this website. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 9).

5. Our website and email provider

This website is hosted on Systeme.io, which also provides our sign-up forms and sends our emails. Systeme.io stores your name and email on our behalf as a data processor. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time with one click. You can read Systeme.io's privacy practices at systeme.io/privacy-policy.

6. Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies. Our website provider may set cookies that are strictly necessary for the pages and the sign-up forms to work. You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

7. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Systeme.io, which hosts this website, provides our sign-up forms, delivers our emails and stores your name and email on our behalf;
  • authorities, where we are legally required to do so.

This website links to Amazon and to our social media pages. Once you follow those links, the privacy policy of those third parties applies, not ours.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your name and email for as long as you stay subscribed to our list, and for a reasonable period afterwards to keep our records. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct data that is wrong or out of date;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • withdraw your consent to marketing at any time;
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

To exercise any of these, email us at info@thememoryatlasbooks.com.

10. International transfers

Some of our providers may store or process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.

11. Children

This website and our mailing list are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.

14. Contact us

Questions about this policy or your data? Write to us through our contact page.
